After years of addiction, broken relationships, and searching for freedom in all the wrong places, Peggy Bruning encountered Jesus in 1998 and discovered that He alone could bring the healing and freedom she desperately needed. Through God’s Word, the power of His Spirit, the love of His people, and the faithful discipleship of women who walked closely with her, the Lord transformed her life and gave her a deep desire to help other women discover that same hope in Christ.

For more than 20 years, Peggy has served in residential discipleship ministries through Calvary Chapel churches across the country, walking alongside women coming out of addiction, destructive relationships, and other life-controlling struggles. In 2026, with the blessing of Calvary Chapel Chattanooga, she stepped into a new season as Executive Director of Renew Women’s Discipleship Ministry, a stand-alone nonprofit residential discipleship ministry. At the heart of Renew is a desire for women to encounter the love of Christ, come to know Jesus personally, and experience the transformation that only He can bring. Through God’s Word, His Spirit, and His people, Renew walks alongside women as Jesus heals broken places, renews hearts and minds, and teaches them to walk in freedom and new life in Him.

Peggy considers it one of the greatest privileges of her life that the Lord has redeemed the broken places of her own story and now allows her to point other women to the grace, freedom, and transforming love found only in Jesus.
